L'università dei Giuristi, tenuto conto del merito e della dignità del grand'uomo, ora, a perpetua lode del suo insigne valore, consacra con questo secondo il monumento prima dedicato; vuole alzare al cielo, per dovere di gratitudine, l'eloquenza inusitata, la dottrina squisita, il carattere dolcissimo; all'uomo singolare offre singolare testimonianza del suo affetto; e gli augura ogni fortuna. Questa marmorea tavola resti a segno del merito singolare di lui e dell'amore dei giovani. L'università dei Giuristi pose l'anno 1593, addì 13 febbraio. Translation: In the name of God, to the famous and excellent Annibale Mariscotti, Bolognese patrician. The young students of law, mindful of the merit and dignity of this exceptional man, consecrate the monument displayed at another time with a second to the perpetual praise of his famous virtue; out of duty of gratitude, they wish to praise to the skies his unusual eloquence, choice learning and sweetness of character; to a singular man, with one accord they recommend this sign of affection and wish him every good fortune. This marble tablet will be a sign of his singular merits and of the love of the young students towards him. The University of both laws placed this monument, 13 February 1593, from the birth of our Lord.
