D. FLAMINIO PAVLVTIO FRACTENSI PRIORE DIGNISSIMO ANNO DNI MDLXXXII Traduzione: A Girolamo Boccadiferro giureconsulto. Qualunque causa costui combatta, qualunque difenda e acutamente rafforzi o indebolisca, egli è di ferro. Ma se espone il senso delle leggi con la sua parola, parole d'oro fluiscono, un ordine d'oro splende. Perciò bisogna dire ch' è di ferro e ugualmente ch'è d'oro quest'inclita gloria del Ginnasio bolognese. Con l'assenso del rev. priore Flaminio Paulucci da Fratta, l'anno 1582. Translation: To the excellent Girolamo Boccadiferro, very famous lawyer. Whatever this shrewd man attacks, whatever he defends, supports or undermines, he seems to be made of iron. If he declares the meaning of the law with the professorial tongue, golden words flow, golden order shines. Therefore it must be said that this famous glory of the University of Bologna is golden and iron at the same time.
