MDCLXXVI // Traduzione: Ai fratelli Giovanni Battista Fornasari nobile bolognese, dottore collegiato dei Giuristi, e Ippolito abate di San Michele, interpreti questo primario di mattina quello ordinario di sera, questo monumento fu fatto perché il Sole della Giustizia, in mezzo al Lucifero e al Vespero del diritto civile stia sempre nei Gemelli. Finché le virtù dei Cieli si moveranno, uno è il giorno a sera e a mattina. Marco Marchetti da Ferrara, priore dei Giuristi, anno 1676. Translation: In the name of God, to the brothers Giovanni Battista Fornasari, a Bolognese noble, Doctor of the College of jurists, and Ippolito, Abbot of San Michele, the first principal lecturer in the mornings, the second ordinary Professor in the evening, this monument was made in order that the sun of Justice between the morning and evening star of civil law should remain always in the sign of Gemini.
