AVGVSTI// Traduzione: A Dio ottimo massimo. Il priore Cesare Sola di Milano, col permesso dei consiglieri, si assunse il compito di decorare quest'aula, con tanto maggiore cura, in quanto era l'ultima che restasse, tra tutte, da ornare con gli stemmi: non solo per accrescere la grande bellezza dell'antichissimo Ginnasio, ma anche per dimostrare il suo amore per quello, l'anno 1579, addi 26 luglio. Translation: In the name of God, Cesare Sola of Milan, with the authority of the Councillors undertakes to decorate this hall with even greater enthusiasm because it is the last among them all remaining to be adorned with coats of arms. Not only to add to the great glory of this most ancient University but also to declare his devotion of mind towards it, 26 July 1579.
