MDCCLII Traduzione: Giorgio Doria cardinale legato, che a Nicolò Sponza, priore estivo, per lui e per i successori, concesse, essendone stato richiesto, la croce d'oro come nuova insegna del priorato. Il priore e i presidi delle due università dei giuristi posero l'anno 1752. Translation: In the name of God, to the most excellent and most reverend Giorgio Doria, Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church and Legate from the flank of Bologna, who to Nicolò Sponza, Prior of the summer for him and for his successors, at his request granted the use of the golden cross as new symbol of the Priorate.
