Traduzione: Ad Angelo Spanocchi patrizio senese, celebre giureconsulto, eminente professore, facondo interprete, umanissimo maestro: le due università vollero e decretarono di loro iniziativa che si ponesse a loro spese questa perenne memoria, a cura del priore Maccabeo Enzenbergher tirolese e dei presidi Scipione Vescovino lucchese, Lazzaro Pellicello e Federico Crucio mantovani, Paolo Tedeschi massense e Giorgio Allegri veronese, l'anno 1604 addì 30 del mese di dicembre. Translation: In the name of God, to Angelo Spanocchi, Sienese patrician, famous lawyer, eminent professor, eloquent interpreter, most generous teacher, the Academy of the two Universities wishes and decrees at its own initiative and expense this lasting memorial to be erected, organised by the illustrious and generous Prior Maccabeo Enzenbergher from the Tyrol, and the Presidents Scipione Vescovino of Lucca, Lazzaro Pellicello and Federico Crucio of Mantua, Paolo Tedeschi of Massa and Giorgio Allegri of Verona, 30 December 1604.
