NOVEM.IS Traduzione: Al cardinale Paluzzi Altieri, nipote di Clemente X papa, perciò che con lo scudo del suo patrocinio armò come d'un'egida questa bolognese Pallade, maestra delle arti, e nell'egida non inscrisse la chioma serpentina di Medusa ma i raggi della sua beneficienza: Giovanni Macazzoli canonico della Chiesa di Bergamo, priore, pose a ricordo della sua gratitudine l'anno 1671, nel mese di novembre. Translation: To the most eminent and most reverend Cardinal Paluzzi Alteri, glorious nephew of Pope Clement X, because with the shield of his family inheritance, like an aegis, he adorned and protected this Bolognese Pallas, mistress of all arts and inscribed on the aegis, not the serpentine hairs of the Medusa, but the rays of his own kindness. The most illustrious Giovanni Macazzoli, Canon of the church of Bergamo, outstanding Prior of the University, placed this monument of gratitude in November 1671.
