Traduzione: Sottopose agli occhi attenti e preparò per il tatto dei giovani ammirati i precordii e i labirintici recessi dissecati d'una più segreta anatomia; mostrò la regola certa di trattare i guasti arti del corpo umano con mano delicata e lenissimi medicamenti e di restituirli alla primitiva integrità e funzione: Giovanni Antonio Godi, da Bologna, per ingegno, arte, dottrina, eloquenza pari ai filosofi e ai medici tutti del suo tempo le due università degli Artisti onorano con questo monumento della loro gratitudine, nell'anno 1633 nel mese di dicembre, essendo priore Tommaso Toschi da Modena e presidi Pietro Pctrinchich danieo e Filippo Gambarella da Mondolfo. Translation: In the name of God, because he opened up to the trusting eyes and exposed for the wondering touch of the students the dissected chests and labyrinths of the secret anatomy, because he showed the certain laws of treating the broken limbs of the human body with ready hand and light medicines, and of restoring it to original and blooming health, the two Universities of arts honour Giovanni Antonio Godi of Bologna, equal in intelligence, skill, learning and eloquence to all the philosophers and physicians of his time, with this monument of gratitude, December 1633, when the famous Tommaso Toschi of Modena was Prior and the famous Pietro Petrinchich of Dacia(?) and Filippo Gambarella of Mondolfo were Presidents.
