Maria dei Bulgari, nel recinto delle Scuole, alla quale fu annessa la chiesa di S. Nicolò da Bagnarola, senza parrocchia, essendo stata a questa tolta la cura delle anime al tempo della ricostruzione totale delle Scuole. Nicolò Calderini, figlio di Domenico Maria, canonico della Chiesa Metropolitana, patrono, insieme col senatore Ludovico e con Filippo, nipoti per parte del suo fratello Giovanni, ricevette per ordine del Sommo Pontefice, e, per il suo amore alla religione e all'onore della casa di Dio, dopo averla ingrandita con molti magnifici ornamenti, a proprie spese la rese più splendida e augusta e v'aggiunse a ricordo perpetuo questa lapide l'anno 1594. Translation: In the name of God, this church named Santa Maria Virgina dei Bulgari, to which was added the church of San Nicolò of Bagnarola, which had no parish attached, in the precinct of the schools, was removed from the care of souls at the time when the University was rebuilt by order received from the Pope. Nicolò Calderini, son of Domenico Maria, canon of the Metropolitan Church, as patron, together with Ludovico the senator and Filippo, nephews of his brother Giovanni, out of their enthusiasm for piety and the honour of the church, after having decorated it with many magnificent ornaments, at their own expense made it more splendid and impressive, and added this stone as a perpetual reminder of this splendid deed, 1594.
