La conoscenza del diritto e l'integrità dei costumi per più di vent'anni lo fecero lettore padre e guida ai candidati giuristi nel patrio archiginnasio e nella sua casa; la pietà, la virtù, la saggezza e la giustizia lo resero consolatore dei rei condannati a morte; lo elessero e crearono e vollero carissimo ai duchi di Mantova, assistente degli studenti sudditi di quei duchi, ascritto tra i nobili della loro corte, presidente di più collegi in patria, onorato nella stessa con le più alte magistrature; la fama gli diede un nome che durerà in eterno; Pietro Antonio dall'Aste, da Forlì, priore dei Giuristi, in segno d'ossequio verso il maestro e di riconoscenza della patria, lo insignì di questo marmo l'anno 1676. Translation: In the name of God, whoever does not know the famous man Carlo Antonio Biagi, learn to know him now. Knowledge of law and moral integrity made him for more than twenty years teacher father and judge in all things for the candidates of both Universities of law in the University of his homeland and for his private students at home. Piety, virtue, wisdom and justice made him the consoler of the criminals condemned to death, rendered and recommended him to be very dear to the noble dukes of Mantua, as assistant to the students who were subjects of that duchy, and caused him to be listed among the nobles of that court. They made him master of many colleges in his homeland and honoured with the most important magistracies here. Fame gave him a name which will last for ever. Pietro Antonio dall'Aste of Forlì, Prior of the law faculty inscribed this in marble to express respect for his master and to recognize the country's debt, 1676.
