Se la patria e la virtù e l'illustre nome ereditato dagli avi e l'immacolato onore e l'aver insegnato filosofia e logica per lunghi anni portano finalmente alle stelle gli emeriti, quest'omaggio che ti si rende non è per te un grande onore: o Baldi, la Gloria giace vinta dai tuoi meriti. Ma se questo nostro omaggio s'intende come segno della nostra gratitudine, ricevilo: piccola cosa in confronto al grande beneficio che da te abbiamo avuto. Con l'assenso del priore delle due università delle Arti e di Medicina, Flaminio Maselli da Modena, il mese di dicembre del 1588.
